Meet Sharon

Meet Sharon a Lab Technician Diploma graduate from Mbarara Lab Training school in Uganda. After graduation, Sharon was promised a good-paying job in India, but ended up in the hands of traffickers and was forced into commercial sex to pay a fraudulent “debt” of money her trafficker spent to bring her to India. Her documents were confiscated and she was stuck only to live at the mercies of the trafficker. Fighting for her life, her family continued to reach out asking for financial support.

As her health deterioriated, she managed to see a doctor in India, who told her she had breast cancer. Sharon felt hopeless.

Through a partnership with Red Oak Hope and Red Rope Movement, Sharon was repatriated to Uganda. Suffering from a serious breast tumor and deteriorated health, our team in U ganda cared for her through counseling, case management, and eventually in the Business Development Program.

Today, Sharon is running a successful cake and coffee beans business, employing 4 people. She is in good health and able to meet all her financial needs, and we are so proud to continue walking alongside her on her journey!
